IDOC Advisory Board

Illinois Department of Corrections Advisory Board

An advisory board to the agency is established under the Illinois Compiled Statutes.  The Adult Advisory Board is established by Chapter 730 Illinois Compiled Statues 5/3-2-6 and is composed of nine persons appointed by the Governor for a term of six years. The Director and Assistant Director serve as ex-officio members of the Board.

The Board advises the Director concerning policy matters and programs of the Department with regard to the custody, care, study, discipline, training and treatment of persons in the State correctional institutions and for the care and supervision of persons on mandatory supervised release.

Subcommittee on Women

The Subcommittee on Women advises the Advisory Board and the Director on all policy matters and programs of the Department with regard to the custody, care, study, discipline, training and treatment of women in the State correctional institutions and for the care and supervision of women on mandatory supervised release.  The Subcommittee shall be composed of 3 members of the Advisory Board appointed by the Chairman who shall designate one member as the chairman of the Subcommittee. The Subcommittee shall meet no less often than quarterly and at other times at the call of its chairman.
