Media Requests

Please submit any media inquiries or requests for staff interviews to DOC.MediaInquiries@illinois.gov.

Individual in Custody Interview Requests:
Write the Individual in Custody a detailed letter with your request. If he or she agrees to an interview, scan the letter, along with the envelope it arrives in, and email them to the Public Information Officer. Please note: consent from the Individual in Custody does not guarantee the interview will be approved.

Documentary, Film or other Production Requests:
Please send your detailed inquiry to the Public Information Officer. Please note: there are fees associated with all productions inside IDOC facilities.

Individual in Custody Photo Requests:
Individual in Custody photos are available on the IDOC website on the Individual in Custody Search page. Photos of former Individuals in Custody are confidential per Illinois statute.

Cameras and Recording Devices:
Possession of any camera, microphone or other recording device within an IDOC facility is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Public Information Officer.
