Angela Mecagni | Re-Entry Administrator
Angela Mecagni started her career at the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice in June 2007, serving in many different capacities within contractual behavioral health, security, clinical services, and mental health. In February 2017, Angie was hired at the Illinois Department of Corrections as a Re-Entry Social Worker II at Hill Correctional Center and served as the Mental Health Authority at Illinois River Correctional Center. Angie joined the IDOC Re-Entry Unit in August 2020, as the District 3 PRG/Re-Entry Supervisor. In August 2022, she was appointed as Acting Re-Entry Administrator. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her master’s degree in Social Work from Aurora University. She also holds a current State of Illinois license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
