Christine Brannon-Dortch | Deputy Director Region 1
Christine Brannon-Dortch was named Deputy Director of Region 1 at the Illinois Department of Corrections January 1, 2022. Brannon-Dortch oversees the operation of the adult correctional centers, adult transition centers and the Reception and Classification Center in the region. Prior to her most recent appointment, she served as Warden of Hill Correctional Center.
A veteran of the Illinois Department of Corrections, Brannon-Dortch began her career as a correctional officer at Hill Correctional Center in May 1995. While at Hill Correctional Center she worked a variety of positions that included the Adjustment Committee, Institutional Trainer and she served as the facility Intelligence Unit Coordinator.
In May 2013, Brannon-Dortch was named Assistant Warden of Programs at Hill Correctional Center. In July 2013, she was named Assistant Warden of Programs at Illinois River Correctional Center. In August 2014, Brannon-Dortch was named Warden at Danville Correctional Center, where she was the first female Warden at the facility. In August 2015, she was named Warden at Logan Correctional Center. In February 2016, Brannon-Dortch was named Warden at East Moline Correctional Center, where she was the first female Warden at the facility. In January 2020, Brannon-Dortch was named the Warden at Hill Correctional Center.
Brannon-Dortch attended Carl Sandburg College, Moraine Valley College, Southern Illinois University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago.
