Tim Plankenhorn | Deputy Chief Parole District 2 - 5

Tim Plankenhorn was appointed Deputy Chief of Districts 2-5 for the Illinois Department of Corrections in February 2025. In this role, he oversees the supervision of parole staff and parolees across 99 counties throughout the state.

A veteran of the Illinois Department of Corrections, Deputy Chief Plankenhorn began his career as a Correctional Officer at Lincoln Correctional Center in January 1996. He was promoted to Correctional Counselor in 2000 before transitioning to the Aurora Parole Office as a Correctional Parole Agent in July 2005. In 2019, he was promoted to Parole Commander in Aurora and later transferred to the Dixon Parole Office in the same role. In May 2024, Plankenhorn was promoted to Administrative Commander of Districts 2-5 before assuming his current position as Deputy Chief.

Deputy Chief Plankenhorn earned an Associate of Arts degree from Illinois Valley Community College and a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from the University of Illinois-Springfield.
