Jason Krigel | Chief Public Safety Legal Counsel
Jason Krigel joined the Illinois Department of Corrections in July 2023, serving as Chief Public Safety Legal Counsel and the agency Ethics Officer. Prior to this role, Jason spent eight years as an Assistant Illinois Attorney General in the Criminal Appeals Division, representing the State in the Illinois Supreme Court, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and various state and federal courts. He also worked in private practice for three years as a litigator at Jenner & Block LLP and clerked for United States District Court Judge Joan Gottschall in the Northern District of Illinois.
