Melinda J. Eddy | Chief of Women and Family Services

Melinda Eddy began her career with the Illinois Department of Corrections in 2017, and currently serves as the Chief of Women and Family Services Division.  Preceding this appointment, she served as Warden of Taylorville Correctional Center and Assistant Warden of Life Skills and Reentry at Logan Correctional Center.   

Prior to joining IDOC, Melinda held a variety of positions within the Criminal Justice System in Wyoming and Indiana.  She served as a Juvenile Residential Unit Manager, Court Services Re-entry Case Manager, Probation and Parole Agent, and Rehabilitative Services Coordinator.  She is passionate about criminal justice reform and has assisted with policy development in her various roles in all three State Criminal Justice Systems. 

Melinda received her bachelor’s degree in Law and Society from Purdue University.
