James Deen | Chief Financial Officer
James Deen was appointed Chief Financial Officer in June 2020. In this role, Deen is responsible for the Fiscal and Budget Programs for the Public Safety Agencies. He interprets and implements legislative decisions, provides fiscal oversite and policy directives, and efficiently and effectively maintains the best practice standards across agency lines.
Deen began his career with the Department in February 2011 as an Accountant Supervisor at Jacksonville Correctional Center and promoted to Business Administrator in January 2018. As Business Administrator, Deen provided oversight of Business Office functions for the facility, as well as Pittsfield and Greene County Work Camps. Deen currently serves as Treasurer of the Illinois Correctional Employees’ Memorial Association.
