Chief Compliance Officer

Michael Crum | Chief Compliance Officer

Michael Crum was appointed Chief Compliance Officer in January 2024. Michael first joined the Illinois Department of Corrections in 2021, as the contract compliance monitor. Prior to joining IDOC, Michael served in various security, environmental health, and safety leadership roles within the health care industry in Illinois and Texas. Within these roles, he was responsible for the safety of all staff, patients, and the public, including serving as the safety officer. Michael also holds certifications in life safety regulations, emergency management and incident command. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from University of Illinois and a master’s degree in business administration from Benedictine University.
